Does A Guitar From Guitar Hero Work With Rock Band On Ps3?

I’ve got the original Guitar Hero with guitar on PS3. Looking forward to the release of Rock Band: Beatles edition which comes with a set of drums and one guitar. Was wondering if the guitar I’ve already got could be used as an extra guitar?
