What Is The Telephone Like Outlet On The Bottom Of The Xbox Guitar Hero 2 For?

Just got the new Guitar Hero 2 today… and I saw on the bottom of the actual guitar a telephone cord port? I was looking online and in the instruction booklet but there’s no mention of it. Also, I thought it would be for my internet cord so we can download the new songs… but it’s too small for that! Has anyone figured that out? Thanks 
What Is More Difficult? Playing A Real Guitar Or Guitar Hero Guitar?

My brother thinks playing that fake guitar hero guitar is a lot harder than playing a real guitar. I told him a real guitar involves much more skill and time. That a real guitar doesn’t have color coded notes on the sheet music.
