FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
NEW YORK CITY (February 9, 2010) – STARK TO RELEASE THIRD STUDIO ALBUM RACE TO THE FLOOR
STARK will release a third album of nine songs, Race To The Floor, March 9, 2010. The New York City CD Release Party will be held March 13th at 10pm at Arlene's Grocery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and the first 50 people in the door will receive a free STARK tote bag filled with a copy of the album and other goodies, like autographed posters. There will be several lines of t's and tanks to purchase at a discount for the night of the party only.
With the addition of Joe Hogan on guitar, expect to have your speakers rattling as you are reminded of 70's FM radio. STARK likes to joke that this is the new classic rock. The original hard rock trio has produced a completely DIY project with Hogan once again doing his magic behind the board, mixing and engineering at Loho Studios, Atlantic Recordings, and Big Blue Meenie. Drummer Eric Robel contributed all of the artwork, including taking the photos on a timer without a photographer. Finally, founder and front-woman Lani Ford, a multi ASCAP Plus award winner and Daisy Rock Guitars endorsed artist, financed the majority of the project while writing all of the lyrics, updating all of the sites, booking gigs and tours, running press and radio campaigns, and maintaining relationships with thousands of contacts. The band is already writing new material for an EP that will feature live tracks from the CD Release Party plus a cover or two.
"It can be maddening," says Ford of completing the project with basically 3 people, "but it is very rewarding to know it's a product of our own blood, sweat, and beers! And lots of support from our fans and friends." The album has been "leaked" to a few of STARK's favorite radio and internet stations and has been receiving airplay as well as this comment from Douglas Craig at NYCMusic.net: "I got a chuckle when I saw the title--very Stark!...you guys have knocked this one right out of the park!"
In 2009, STARK played GNYC-TV’s M.E.A.N.Y.Fest in NYC at The Studio at Webster Hall. STARK’s Hogan and Ford played the Indiegrrl in the Arts Conference and Showcase in Nashville. Ford was a guest host on the internet show Rew & Who and also DJ'd the New York Waste Compilation CD in the fall of 2009. Lani has appeared on Frankie Russo's Rock Chicks Live on chataboutit.com many times over the past year and was Spotlight Artist for the week of February 8, 2010. Lani also played a 10 day solo acoustic tour in the UK in November 2009, opening for the band Lilith's Army.
STARK will be returning to the UK in June 2010. STARK’s music video for the song “OH NO!” won Best Music Video at The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in October 2009. In the meantime, STARK’s sophomore CD Put It To Your Head has been receiving great press and radio all over the world since it’s release in January 2008.

2009 was a mad year for 9Lies!It seen us tour Germany for the 1st time, and work with legendary producer Stuart Epps, (Hearing his stories about everyone from Robbie Williams to Oasis). But more than that we have made the massive leap from Indie with the announcement of our first big budget UK single release since signing with Maddie Records in June. WooHOO! Nostalgia Time!!
Since the release in 2006 of the 'Behind It All' album, its been a rollercoaster ride, with Blind being snapped up by Warner TV, and the title track finding home as the theme tune to 'Our Prisoner' in the USA.
In 07 the Song Slippin Away was downloaded more than 143,000 times and chosen by ASCAP for excellence in song writing at Music Expo in L.A.
And last year was our biggest to date, seeing us travel to Poland to play the Vena Music Festival in Łódź to thousands of screaming fans alongside the Sugababes and Fun Lov'in Criminals,AnD tHeRe's MoRe...
Being invited to play FMI in Brazil, licensing 'We R1' to Techno Sweat, and the release of the first video game ever to use our music Trucker 2 is imminent! And to top it all off we have just returned from a fantastic European tour from St Augustine to Aachen. Oh Yeah!! Thanks for your continued support. We'll work day and daily to keep you proud, and make 2010 our biggest ever!!

Yesterday, I saw a priest hit by a vehicle. He was still wearing his scapula and holding a plastic bag full of
church dresses at his right hand. That day I realized that we are nothing in the hands of fate; fate never chooses any situation. When your time has come, you will never notice it, even if you pray or not, your creed will only in heaven and not on earth.
After witnessing that traumatic experience, I realize something in life—that everything in this world is only a test for us, and we are to be judged by the divine God. A test of fate is always life changing. Even if it is impossible, I want to witness the second coming of God. It would be an honor if I live a thousand years in this world waiting for the judgment day.
I wonder what it’s like to be judged by God, what is his method of judging a person and am I going to be in heaven or hell? Sometimes these questions just keep running in my head. But I guess, as a normal human being, I am here for my uncharted mission, which I have yet to realize.

Prince-of-persia-punk provides personal pleasure past psychotic perceptions
Fragmentary & raw electro-rhythmic pieces; very fast, flickering and vital eruptive stuff creating a bizarre techno-surreal atmosphere between funny Pop & digital Noise. Weird! Reminds on some TONTO or MEGO - stuff.
